Stanley Pershing Sears

SEARS Stanley Pershing, W2PQG, was born in Dorchester, MA on September 13, 1918 and died peacefully on August 18, 2008 in his Paramus home of fifty-eight years at the age of 89.

A graduate of Parks Air College in E. St. Louis, IL, and Union College, Schenectady, NY, he was employed by Bendix Corp. in Teterboro prior to his retirement.

Stan and his wife Vivian were Charter Members of the Paramus Congregational Church, he was a member of Masonic Lodge #200, a ham radio operator and member of the American Radio Relay League and co-founder of the 10-70 Repeater Association. which will permanently transmit using his call, W2PQG.

Stan was friends with everyone he ever met, seemed to know everyone in Paramus and always lent a hand to anyone in need. He will be truly missed. There aren't many "Stans" in the world today!

Stan was preceded in death by his dear wife of fifty-nine years, Vivian, in April, 2000 and is survived by his daughter and her husband, Carol and Ted Holsinger; his son Walter Sears; his grandson and his wife, TJ and Jenna Holsinger; his great-grandson Theo Holsinger; his granddaughter Lisann Hoppe and great-grandsons Robert and Michael Hoppe, and his "adopted" daughter and her husband Karen and Steven Bullen, and their children, Courtney and Timmy.
