W2PQG Was Once Again On The Air For HF Operations
During ARRL Field Day 2011

Once again, as they did in 2010, the Stan Sears Memorial Amateur Radio Club, activated station W2PQG - 1D - NNJ during ARRL Field Day 2011.  Contacts were made on 10m, 15m, 20m and 40m SSB from Northern New Jersey. Operations were co-located with those of K2VK, the East Coast DX Association, and took place over approximately one hour on Sunday morning of Field Day 2011.

The station setup used for W2PQG contacts, was Stanís own Kenwood 930s transceiver, connected directly to a 10-15-20 meter Tri-band Beam and a G5RV dipole antenna, running 100 watts, without a pre-amp. A Heil Goldline microphone and footswitch were added to the complement of Stanís equipment for the day. 24 Contacts made during the 1 hour operation and all are listed in the W2PQG FD 2011 Logsheet that is available HERE  and you can also see the W2PQG FD 2011 Score Summary Sheet that is available HERE (both are in Adobe PDF format).

Stan's Kenwood TS-930s (the Center Radio In the Top Picture)

Once again, the Club operated in honor and memory of Stan Sears, a Silent Key since 2008. Future additional activations are planned, especially for Field Days, as this was Stanís favorite amateur radio event to take part in each year, with his Club, the10-70 Repeater Association.

Of note was that several stations contacted using Stan's Kenwood TS-930s, commented on its excellent sound and signal quality once again proving that the radio remains ready, and able to be used for many successful hours of on-air operation.
